Three Short Stories
From the collection, Discordant Hearts
- Farfetched encounter
- Uncertain friendship
- The impondérables of train travel
Whether single or in a relationship, whether they have started a family or reject the idea of reproduction, the protagonists of these stories are all confronted with the same stresses and existential questions: how to live one's life? Whom to share it with? These emotions that overwhelm us, do they express true love or a misunderstanding with sometimes fatal consequences?
Black and even cynical humor fortunately comes to the rescue of these ‘Discordant Hearts’ which, far from being miserable, relish in their irony and absurdity. The worst is never certain. Love gives the courage to resist, to hope, and to pass on. The hearts may remain foreign to each other, but they learn to communicate and to build, in their own modest and fragile way, a shared destiny.
